Lunar New Year Celebration
Celebrate the Lunar New Year at the Micronesia Mall with a Festive Lion Dance, Cultural Demonstrations, Performances, Giveaways including a Grand Prize Diamond Necklace, and More!
Micronesia Mall will be kicking off the Lunar New Year with a special celebration in the Micronesia Mall Center Court on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2PM to 5:30PM starting with a spectacular lion dance performance by the esteemed Chinese School of Guam.
The public is invited to join the celebration as we delve into the rich traditions and significance of Lunar New Year, a time of renewal, unity and prosperity celebrated by various cultures around the world. The Center Court will be transformed with stunning red and gold lights, floating lanterns, a Year of the Snake backdrop, and more displays and photo ops to create an immersive festive atmosphere.
Mallgoers can experience the vibrant festivities throughout the afternoon, including calligraphy demonstrations by the University of Guam’s Mandarin Language Program, a traditional Guzheng performance, and entertainment by Okkodo High School’s Blue Blvrd and the Tumon Bay Youth Orchestra. A highlight of the celebration will be the meet and greet opportunities with the Peipei the Panda mascot, accompanied by an impressive giant inflatable panda display courtesy of Panda Express.
The event will feature an exciting array of cultural activities and displays presented by the University of Guam and Guam Community College, alongside performances organized by the Guam Philharmonic Foundation. Attendees can enjoy special giveaways throughout the day, including fortune cookies and panda keychains from Panda Express, as well as special prizes including movie tickets, jewelry, food vouchers, and gift bags from MM Theatres, Vince Jewelers, Macy's, Taco Bell, Coast360 Federal Credit Union, Singh's Cafe, and Sizzle Grill.

Chess activities will continue through June 2025, offering opportunities to develop mental wellness and strategy skills.
